BABYBREAK/ PARENTAL LEAVE
After the performances of "Les Contes d' Hoffmann" with the Munich Opera Festival and the Gala Concert with Béatrice Uria Monzon at the Chorégies Orange in the Théâtre Antique on July 30th, Diana Damrau will go on parental leave. She is planning to return to the stage for the New Year's Eve concerts at the Semperoper Dresden on December 30th and 31st.


Juni 2012

LUCIA DI LAMMERMOOR, Vienna
After unfortunately having to withdraw from concerts on Paris, Vienna and Dusseldorf due to problems in her second pregnancy which coincided with a protracted bronchitis, Diana Damrau is currently suffering from an acute varicella zoster infection. She is saddened to have to cancel the first two performances of "Lucia di Lammermoor" at the Vienna State Opera on June 20th, 24th and 30th.

Role Debut in October 2008
Replacing the pregnant Anna Netrebko, Diana Damrau will make her debut in the title role of Donizetti's "Lucia di Lammermoor" at the Metropolitan Opera, New York in a 7 performance run. Ms. Damrau would like to thank the theatres and the organizers for their understanding and support in allowing her to take this opportunity and apologises for any inconveniences caused by this last-minute schedule alteration.

Forthcoming

  • At the Munich Opera Festival, July 2008, Ms Damrau will sing the role of Zerbinetta in a new production of Strauss' "Ariadne auf Naxos" at the Nationaltheater, and later that summer sings Pamina in a new production at Vienna's Theater an der Wien.
  • On 4.11.08 Diana Damrau makes her recital debut at London's Wigmore Hall, where she stays to perform the title role in Humperdinck's "Hänsel und Gretel" at the Royal Opera House Covent.
  • In 2009, the soprano has four major role debuts, namely as Donna Anna in Mozart's Don Giovanni at the Théâtre de Genève, then to the Vienna State Opera where she will sing Aminta in Strauss' "Die schweigsame Frau" and the title role in Massenets "Manon" and finally Marie in Donizetti's "La fille du régiment" at the War Memorial Opera House, San Francisco.
